Why Regional Sourcing?

Summer/Fall Share

From June 'til November, our Summer Share is exactly what you'd expect -- our own organic vegetables, plus a complement of fruits, berries, corn, and other seasonal goodies from neighboring farms. Everything is local, and most of it is organic.

Fall Only Share

This share captures the final 11 weeks of our Local Share. It is perfect for anyone who is away during the summer, allowing you to fill the gap between your summer schedule and the start of our Winter Share.

Winter Share

This share runs from late November to early May and extends our local foodshed to the north and south. By sourcing from East Coast farms in winter, we are able to offer a wider variety of organic produce with the convenience of farm share pick-up, while supporting regional farmers, and reducing the environmental impact of transporting winter produce from California and beyond.

Each week, we start with as much local produce as we can, including storage and root crops, onions, and greenhouse-grown vegetables. To supplement the food available locally, we partner with growers from Prince Edward Island to Homestead, Florida. North Carolina keeps it interesting with sweet potatoes and cooking greens, Georgia brings us an early crop of strawberries (sometimes peaches!), and from our friends in Florida we enjoy tree-ripened citrus, lettuce, tomatoes, eggplant, green beans, and more.
